Why do you try so hard to cover your accent. What is it about the beauty of our native language that you try so hard to disguise it. Does it not hurt killing what little you have left to hold onto of our culture in what remains in your accent. Embrace speaking with an accent don’t be ashamed of it. There is beauty in speaking the second language with the influence of our native language. Forget those that say you are pronouncing it wrong. Blame them for not hearing right. So for every other language you may choose to learn in the future be proud of the accent you carry from your lengua nativa when you speak it.
Okay so both my parents are from Mexico my padre is from Zacatecas and my madre is from Durango. I am very proud from where i come from and I wouldn't change anything about it. But the one thing that gets annoying is that i am very light skinned (because of my padre) so when i tell people i am Mexican the first reaction i get is " No you are not you are white" I hate sterotypical people that judge me on how i am suppose to look because of my ethinicty. p.s you are freaking awesome
¡Ijole! sabes que I know how you feel. Its like all of the sudden these people are experts on skin pigmentation and ethnic backgrounds. Hijos de puta I say. I get it a lot in my case except on the other side of the color spectrum. So I mess with them since they know where I must be from. I tell them my mom was a Mexican beauty queen turned revolutionary and My dad is a rebel leader from Beirut. And they met in Cuba during the Revolution. Hahahahahahah and these people are sitting there like oooh oooh yeah that’s why you look middle eastern and speak Spanish it explains it all! hahahahahhaha what a bunch of pendejos. So feel free to make up your own story while you read this. Oh and thank you for the complement but a son of a Mexican beauty queen and middle eastern rebel leader was born to be awesome hahaha no te la creas!
